Vähän aikaa sitten joku ihmetteli kommenttiboksissa, mistä kaikki ideani oikein pulppuavat. No, niitä löytyy vähän kaikkialta ja syntyy mitä kummallisimmissa olosuhteissa. Osa syntyy ohjeita ja kirjoja lukemalla tai muiden blogeja selaamalla. Osa lähtee liikkeelle väristä, materiaalista tai esineestä, jonka tahtoisin jotenkin kierrättää. Osa pulpahtaa mystisesti alitajunnan syövereistä kun sitä vähiten odotan. Joka tapauksella aktiivisella havainnoinnilla ja ihmettelyllä on valtava merkitys. Sillä, että pitää silmät ja korvat auki.
Kun olin lapsi, minulle opetettiin kotona, ettei kenenkään töitä tule kopioida, mutta että ideat ovat vapaata riistaa. Kukaan ei omista ideaa, vaan sen voi jokainen käyttää uudestaan omalla tavallaan. Tähän uskon vieläkin. Maailma on joka tapauksessa käytettyjä ideoita täynnä, ja joku muu on luultavasti tehnyt jo saman jossain muualla. Jos sitä alkaa miettiä, ei saa mitään aikaan. Siksi tulee tuottaa oma versionsa hienoista ideoista ja antaa aina kunnia alkuperäisen tekijälle, jos sellainen on tiedossa. Kun jotain tekee omalla tavallaan, se ei ole enää alkuperäisen kopio.
Viime aikoina olen alkanut miettiä, mihin suuntaan haluan blogia viedä, ja millaisia erilaisia postauksiavoisin tänne tuottaa. Siis perinteisten "tein sitä ja tätä" - juttujen lisäksi, sillä joskus tuntuu, että toistan aina samaa kaavaa. Ja nyt päätinkin, että teen aina silloin tällöin inspiraatiokatsauksen. Sellaisen, johon listaan ihania asioita, jotka minua sillä hetkellä innostavat. Ne voivat olla käsitöitä, valokuvia, kirjoja tai mitä vain. Ihan vain esimerkiksi siitä, mistä niitä ideoita oikein syntyy.
Onko sinulla ideoita siitä, millaisia juttuja haluaisit täällä lukea? Mistä pidät ja mistä et? Kaipaatko jotain tiettyä? Vai onko kaikki tällaisenaan täydellistä, ja pitäisi vain tajuta olla muuttamatta? Kerro, puhu, ääntele - mielipiteelläsi on minulle merkitystä.

Some time ago somebody asked in the comment box where I get all my ideas. Well, it's hard to say - they come from everywhere and anytime. Sometimes I get them when I read books or blogs. Sometimes it starts with a material, a color or an item I want to reuse. And some of them just pop up when I least expect and usually I have no idea where or why they came to my mind. Anyway, exploring and observing the world have a huge importance. You know, keeping your eyes and ears open.
When I was a kid I was taught one should never copy other's work, but ideas are free. Nobody owns ideas, you can always reuse them in your own way. And that's something I still believe in. World is full of used ideas, and it's very likely someone has already done that somewhere. If you start to think that, you can do nothing anymore. That's why you should make your own version of cool ideas and always credit the original if only you know who made it. If you do something in your own way, it's not a copy.
Lately I've been thinking where I want to take this blog. I feel it would be nice to do something else as well that just those "I made this and that" -posts. So I decided I'm going to do an inspiration post once in a while. Filled with lovely things that inspire and cheer me at that moment. They can be handmade, photographs, colors...whatever. Just to show where the ideas may come from.
Do you have any ideas what kind of posts you would like to read in my blog? What do you like and dislike? Do you miss something exactly? Or is the blog perfect and should be continued the same way? Please tell me, your opinion means a lot.
Also, I got almost all of my comments in Finnish. Is there anyone out there who reads this blog in English? If yes, please say hello, so I know you're there. And I would appreciate if you told me is it hard in your opinion to read a blog written in two languages? Do you think I should have separate blogs for English and Finnish?
