Kesäkukkia // Summer Flowers

Jes! Vihdoinkin sain virkattua kukan, joka näyttää kukalta. Olen yrittänyt varmaan sata kertaa, mutta onnistunut vain kerran aiemmin. Jokin siinä menee aina pieleen. Tällä kertaa materiaalina oli c-kasetin nauhaa. Kukat on liimattu muoviseen hiuspantaan, ja sitten napit keskipallukoiksi. Näyttävän kyllä ennemminkin puoliksi imeskellyilta kurkkupastilleilta, kuten joku joskus totesi.

Yes! I finally made it and crocheted a flower that actually looks like a flower. I've tried like hundreds of times, but succeeded only once. Something always goes wrong. This time I used the tape of a c-cassette as material. Flowers are glued to a plastic head band, and the blue thingies in the middle are buttons. They look more like pastilles though.

Pääasioita, osa 1 // Head Things, part 1

Kirppistilkusta syntyi violettitukkaisen tytön hiuspanta. Koska tilkku ei ollut tarpeeksi suuri, että päät olisi voinut vain solmia yhteen, piti ommella nauhaa jatkoksi. Taitetun tilkun avoin reuna on harsittu käsin. Ompelukoneella sen olisi tietenkin saanut siistimmin ja nopeammin, mutta silloin en olisi voinut katsella samalla telkkaria. Panta otettiin käyttöön samalla piknikillä kuin edellisen jutun sormus, toimivaksi ja hyväksi havaittu tämäkin.

Pinkin tukkani ja siitä alkaneen pinkkien asusteiden vyöryn muistavat voivatkin nyt sitten arvailla, mikä on korujen seuraava teemaväri :D

A trifted piece of fabric turned into headband for a purple-haired girl. Cause the piece wasn't long enough to just tie the ends, I had to sew some ribbon to make it longer. The open side of this folded piece is hand stitched. Of course, it would have been neater, easier and quicker to do it with a sewing machine, but then I wouldn't have been able to watch the TV at the same time. This was used for the first time on the picnic from the previous post. It fits well and looks lovely.

Those who remember my pink hair and the accessories I made after that can now start guessing what's the next theme color of my jewelry :D

Nappisuoritus

Pahoittelen sitä, että täällä on ollut niin hiljaista. Kiire ja koulu ovat verottaneet askarteluaikaa. Lisäksi olen keskittynyt neulomiseen ja virkkaamiseen, joten valmista syntyy paljon hitaammin. Kuvissa muutama viime perjantaina tehty yksinkertainen hiuskoriste. Aineksina nappeja ja pikaliimaa, pohjana käyttämättömiksi jääneet hiuspannat ja sivukampa. Ajattelin tehdä näitä saman tien useamman, kun nyt vauhtiin pääsin. Pantoja varsinkin, jotenkin ne tekevät minut iloiseksi.

Cute as a button

I'm sorry it's been so quiet in here. I haven't had that much time for crafting because of all the schoolwork and social life. And when I've been doing something, I've mostly knitted and crocheted, so getting something finished takes longer time now. In the pictures there are some very simple hair decoration I made on Friday. I used buttons, super glue and some old hair accessories I had never used. I think I will do a couple more now when I've started. Buttons just make me happy somehow.
